ENOUGH IS ENOUGH! When exactly does personal accountability come into play anymore?
For those of you who don’t know, NFL superstar Michael Vick is suspected of running a dog fighting operation in his house. I seen what happens to these poor animals, and is Vick is indeed guilty, then I hope he gets punished to the full extent of the law. Now however, right wing talking heads and news outlets with little else to report on have discovered, that hip hop is to blame for dog fighting. However, dog fighting is a tradition that goes back to the days of the Roman Empire, which if I remember correctly was several of centuries before hip hop was created. This is little more of a continuation of the trend of making hip-hop the scapegoat for everything that’s wrong with society. This is nothing new, ever since the attacks on NWA back in the early 90s. However, this trend seems to be re-energized more since the whole Don Imus scandal.
There is no secret that there is a large amount of offensive lyrics in hip hop, but it’s no different from the images of blood and gore seen on movies, tv, and video games. There are also plenty of violent material in other forms of music. Eric Clapton sung about shooting the sheriff, Johnny Cash sung about shooting a man just to watch him die on “folson country blues”, and doing cocaine and killing his wife on “cocaine blues. Woodie Guthrie sang about an outlaw killing a cop in the song “Pretty boy Floyd”. Lets not even mention some of the lyrics in Heavy Metal music, or all the pop and R&B songs bashing men. Yet, these things aren’t even mentioned at all when there are discussions about violent music. If a rapper preformed any of these songs, we would never hear the end of it. Where are all the protests against the offensive material in these forms of music? Why don’t these forms of music take the blame for society’s ills?
There are times when I wish we could go back to the prohibition era, or even the mid 1940s, before there was gangsta rap. I’m sure beside the whole WW2 thing going on, things must have been so peaceful back then. Seriously though, rather than making arguements about social conditions, living standards, mental health, parental upbringing, or anything else that COULD play a role in the violence in our society, I’ll pose these simple questions. There are millions of people around the world who listen to gangsta rap and play violent video games. By that logic, shouldn’t there be millions more cop killers, gang bangers, mass murderers, and psychopaths than those we see on the nightly news? Also, what accounts for the Jeffery Dahmers, Zodiac Killers, David Koreshs, Tim McVeighs, BTKs, and other psychos who clearly don’t listen to rap music?
Doing Good in The Hood: David Banner taked 80 kids to Six Flags
As part of Jackson Mississippi’s Stewpot Neighborhood Children’s program, David Banner treated 80 kids to an all expenses paid trip to Six Flags over Georgia this past week. The rapper paid for food, t-shirts, and admission to the park, which is an annual trip that he has been sponsoring since 2005 with the intention of exposing kids from the neighborhood to different environments. The Stewpot Neighborhood Children’s program is a community organization which serves as an after school program and summer camp for at risk youth in Mississippi.
Big Ups to David Banner for doing this. He is probably one of the most humble rappers in the game and consistently gives back to his community. We need a lot more rappers like him in the game. Unfortunantely this probably won’t even make fox news, but that’s what this is for.
Hustlin Saga demo is now online!
I actually had it up since Wednesday, but I didn’t get around to making the post announcing such. Here it is folks, download it, play it, tell me what you think. The new demo takes you through most of the first chapter. It has some issues to be worked out, but this is the direction the game is heading, and if you don’t mind the offensive content, you’ll enjoy it. I’m trying to steer as far away from the normal RPG clihes as possible, and you’ll see that in the game.
Download it from this link:

It’s official: Bush admin officials are above the law.
Last week, Scooter Libby’s prison sentence was erased by (p)resident Bush. Libby, as you know was handed a 2 and a half year prison term for his role in the outing of CIA agent Valerie Plame. Now, he simply gets off on probation for what according to CIA law, is a federal offense. Think about that for a moment. We’ll accuse filmmakers and anti-war protesters of treason, but when one of the higher ups actually commits a crime that’s almost equivalent to treason, he gets off with a fine. Well fuck it, here is a funny quote about the situation from the white house:
The White House on Thursday pushed back against congressional investigations of the Bush administration and said lawmakers should spend more time passing bills to solve domestic problems.
As opposed to the white house which would rather find new ways to justify keeping us stuck in Iraq rather than help solve our domestic problems. While we’re still fucking up in…..I mean ‘winning’ Iraq, we still have senior citizens who can’t afford their medication, shitty schools, high tuition rates, record gas prices, and 9 million uninsured children. Oh fuck it, what do I know? I’m just a black man concerned with a front row seat watching the country go down the tubes.
Ya’ll are the shit!
When I started this blog a year ago, my old geocities site had only a bit more than 8500 views. Now keep in mind that this was all 5 and a half years it had been up. Now in less than a year of this site, I have nearly 8600 views at the time of this writing. It may not seem like much, but ya boy is definitely on the come up!
Enough of that, my Hustlin Saga demo is almost complete, and it will take you through most of the first chapter. I’ll have it up by this weekend, and you can download it. Keep in mind that it’s a rough draft, and many things will change in the final cut. BTW, there is graphic violence, profanity, and nudity, so 19 and up only.
