Random Thoughts on Race, Women, Bush, and Other Random Shit

I know it’s been a while since I blogged, well before last week anyhow, but I’ve been busy with work and school, especially sine I’ll hopefully be graduating in 2 and a half weeks. Nevertheless, I got some new material for ya’ll, and it’s a doozy. This is gonna be a long post, so read it after the jump.

On women, the “B word”, and Male Bashing – A lot of people jump on rappers who use the B word, or men who call women the ‘h word’, but the fact is that many women are bitches. Just ask anyone who has been falsely been accused of rape, cheated on, tricked into raising another man’s kid, lied to, or screwed over in some other way by the opposite sex. Why are we supposed to respect women who have no respect for us? Better yet, how are we supposed to have respect for women who have no respect for themselves? Women callus dogs all the time, but what do you call a female dog? A woman who does things that they call men dogs for doing?

Besides, female pop, R&B, and female country music artists bash men all the time, and we’re supposed to find it ok to be stereotyped as being stupid, lazy, abusive, unfaithful, and only wanting sex, and the only good thing we can do for women is give them our money. If A rapper were to make a song about smashing up his girl’s car because she cheated on him, we would never hear the end about mysogny, but Carrie Underwood is allowed to do the same thing, and it’s all good. They’re allowed to talk bad about us, but we can’t say anything bad about them. We’re not your mothers, sisters, aunts, grandmothers, daughters, wifes, etc, but we are your fathers, brothers, sons, uncles, and grandfathers, and isn’t that just as important? And here I was mistakenly thinking that women wanted to be equal to men. You can’t be equal to men when you still want special treatment.

On race: “WAAAAAH, Why don’t African Americans just refer to themselves as Americans?” I hear this all the time.
First of all, we aren’t the only ones who refer to themselves in this manner. Italian Americans, Hispanic/Latino Americans, Irish Americans, German Americans, and others do this as well, but I don’t hear anyone jumping on them because of it. Not that I would, because it’s important to recognize one’s heritage.

Secondly, throughout history, blacks have never been treated as ‘just Americans’. When we first came over, we were property. When the constitution was first drawn up, we were only 3/5ths of a man. Whenever there was a war, we were cannon fodder, and even when we helped out in the revolutionary and civil wars (yeah blacks fought for the confederacy as well, look it up or watch the movie “Glory”), after that, we went right back to being slaves (until Lincoln signed the Emancipation Proclamation in the civil war). Heck, in WW2, blacks were even guinea pigs (do some reading on the Tuskegee airmen). After that, blacks were ‘separate but equal’, and even today, we’re “welfare cheats, ghetto thugs, gangbangers, and “%20 percent of the population, and %80 percent of the problem”. In short, we start being just Americans when we start being treated like Americans.

On black history month:
Every February, I hear the same old whining about “Black History Month”.”WAAAAH, why isn’t there a white history month?” First of all, what ‘white’ history would be be learning about? White American, or European history? And what would we be learning that we don’t already learn about in our American and European history courses?

Secondly. The only reason that black history month exists, is because blacks created it. There would be no need for it if the schools would do their jobs and educate their students like they should.

“WAAAAH!! I’m not racist! My family never owned slaves! WAAAAH!!!” Well then why are you getting all bent out of shape over it? Only way we’re ever going to end racism is if we educate ourselves properly, and this means learning about the past rather than trying to pretend that it never happened.

On Bush
Finally, all the Bush supporters need to get over themselves. Every time someone says something bad about him, they’re in league with Al Queida? They hate America because they don’t support Republicans? PLEASE. Ya’ll act like the man is your father or something. Republicans aren’t your fathers, they aren’t gods, they aren’t your boss, they aren’t above the law, and they are subject to the same criticism as anyone else. I’m sure you defended Clinton just as vigorously when he was in office right?

On relationships:
I realized a few things when engaged in trying to hook up with women. First of all, it’s not worth being patient. Good things may come to those who wait, but not in this case. If a girl is constantly blowing you off waiting for her schedule to clear up, then you might as well move on and find someone who will be available. I’ve had more than a few instances when I patiently waited for a girl to become available just to hang out, even months at a time because she reassured me that we could hang out again just ‘as soon as the semester was done’ or ‘as soon as I get some free time’ only to have her find someone better in the meantime. Most of the time she wasn’t really interested in you to begin with, and was only blowing you off thinking she’s being nice about it. In short, don’t make someone a priority when they are only a convenience to you.

On that note, ladies, if you ain’t interested in talking to someone, it’s best if you just be straight up about it. Blowing them off and leading them on about it is only doing more harm than good. You think you’re doing them a favor but it’s easier on the guy if you just let him know then and there. Men may suck at taking hints, but women are even worse at taking them.

Secondly, as far as being nice and things like that, it’s not that nice guys finish last, it’s that a lot of women don’t know what they want. Think about it, for those of you single, recently broken up or recently divorced: That girl started dating you for who you are right? But right after you got deep into the relationship (moving in, getting married, etc), she wanted you to change or she tried to change you. they don’t set out to find alcoholics or abusers, but they end up with they because they tend to be primarily focused on materialism and outer appearences. Being sincere to them usually translates to being soft. They end up being with men who turn out to be unfaithful because when they first meet, they give off that impression of being ‘manly’.

On elitists and snobs:
You ain’t cooler than anyone else because you like music, movies, and video games that no one else has even heard of. I see snobs in every form: The japanese anime nerd who thinks he is a bigger anime fan than I am because he downloads fansubbed Bleach episodes from Bitorrent. The kufi-wearing backpacker who thinks he’s a bigger hip hop fan than me because he listens to MC Huckabucka ‘underground’ bullcrap while I listen to 50 Cent and Jay-Z. The Nerd who thinks he’s a real gamer because he plays some Bullshit horse racing sim while everyone plays FPS and sports titles.

Finally to my gamers: Anyone who argues about which console is better is a fucking idiot. Anyone who argues about weather PC is better than a console is an idiot. You can’t tell me that there aren’t at least 3 games on each system that’s out now that you want to play. Yeah, PC may have better graphical and modding capabilities than most consoles, but you have to upgrade them every few years to get your games to run, and that can be expensive. I have an Xbox, Xbox 360, PS3, a Wii, and a laptop in my room. My PC has a 2.0 GHz processor, so I can run games like Half Life 2. I’m enjoying Halo 3, Resistance, and Starcraft! There is nothing wrong with buying all 3.
