Random Thoughts on Race, Women, Bush, and Other Random Shit
I know it’s been a while since I blogged, well before last week anyhow, but I’ve been busy with work and school, especially sine I’ll hopefully be graduating in 2 and a half weeks. Nevertheless, I got some new material for ya’ll, and it’s a doozy. This is gonna be a long post, so read it after the jump.
It’s official: Bush admin officials are above the law.
Last week, Scooter Libby’s prison sentence was erased by (p)resident Bush. Libby, as you know was handed a 2 and a half year prison term for his role in the outing of CIA agent Valerie Plame. Now, he simply gets off on probation for what according to CIA law, is a federal offense. Think about that for a moment. We’ll accuse filmmakers and anti-war protesters of treason, but when one of the higher ups actually commits a crime that’s almost equivalent to treason, he gets off with a fine. Well fuck it, here is a funny quote about the situation from the white house:
The White House on Thursday pushed back against congressional investigations of the Bush administration and said lawmakers should spend more time passing bills to solve domestic problems.
As opposed to the white house which would rather find new ways to justify keeping us stuck in Iraq rather than help solve our domestic problems. While we’re still fucking up in…..I mean ‘winning’ Iraq, we still have senior citizens who can’t afford their medication, shitty schools, high tuition rates, record gas prices, and 9 million uninsured children. Oh fuck it, what do I know? I’m just a black man concerned with a front row seat watching the country go down the tubes.
