Obama’s ‘association’ with the Weathermen

October 15, 2008 at 12:25 am (conservative bitchslapping, My personal opinion, Politics, Racism, Republicans being stupid) (, , , , , , , , , )

The latest of Republican smears against Obama is his link with former terrorist William Ayers, part of the Weathermen, an Anti-Vietnam extremist group.  This association stems from a 1995 meeting at a luncheon, and the two men serving on an anti-poverty board.  However, the right wing spin machine would have you believe that Obama supported terrorist activities that were committed when he was just a small child.  Even the head prosecutor of the weathermen case says this is bullshit, as he stated in a letter to the New York Times this past friday.

As the lead federal prosecutor of the Weathermen in the 1970s (I was then chief of the criminal division in the Eastern District of Michigan and took over the Weathermen prosecution in 1972), I am amazed and outraged that Senator Barack Obama is being linked to William Ayers’s terrorist activities 40 years ago when Mr. Obama was, as he has noted, just a child.

Although I dearly wanted to obtain convictions against all the Weathermen, including Bill Ayers, I am very pleased to learn that he has become a responsible citizen.

Because Senator Obama recently served on a board of a charitable organization with Mr. Ayers cannot possibly link the senator to acts perpetrated by Mr. Ayers so many years ago.

I do take issue with the statement in your news article that the Weathermen indictment was dismissed because of “prosecutorial misconduct.” It was dismissed because of illegal activities, including wiretaps, break-ins and mail interceptions, initiated by John N. Mitchell, attorney general at that time, and W. Mark Felt, an F.B.I. assistant director.

As anyone who has a few minutes to do some reading will find out, this %100 retarded attempt to connect Obama to terrorist activities which took place decades earlier is beyond absurd. It would be like trying to connect Bush to Al Queida based on the fact that his father worked with Osama’s relatives as part of the Carlyle group. Of course there is no need to let the truth get in the way of a good smear campaign.

However, since we’re going to play the ‘Guilt by association’ card though, wasn’t Todd Palin (a.k.a. the republican candidate’s running mate’s husband) a member of a group that wanted Alaska to separate from the union (It doesn’t get more Anti-American than that) from 1995 – 2002? Yet Sarah Palin is married to and has kids with this guy. If Michelle Obama was part of such a group, we would never hear the end of it.

Oh yeah, wasn’t McCain trying to get the support of pastor John Hagee, who stated that gays are responsible for hurricane Katrina and Hitler was doing god’s work? That’s as hateful as anything Reverend Wright said, yet he gets a pass on it.  Lets not even get into McCain’s associations with the Keating 5 and Watergare break-in participant Gordon Liddy.  Of course, since Republicans can do no wrong…

Gotta love double standards.

So, where were all the people who wanted Mike Vick’s head on a pike last year now?

September 18, 2008 at 12:30 am (conservative bitchslapping, My personal opinion, Politics, Racism, Republicans being stupid) (, , , , , , , , , )

Where is PETA when you need them? You can’t tell me that shooting at dogs from a low flying airplane is just as bad, if not worse than forcing them to fight each other.

So Mike Vick is having dog fights in his basement and everyone wants his head, yet shooting at dogs from a low flying airplane is kosher? I know I’m gonna be acused of playing the race card, but if you ask me, It’s just white privilege for you.

Speaking of which, here is a good article from writer Tim Wise on the subject. Here are some of my favorite parts:

White privilege is when you can get pregnant at seventeen like Bristol Palin and everyone is quick to insist that your life and that of your family is a personal matter, and that no one has a right to judge you or your parents, because “every family has challenges,” even as black and Latino families with similar “challenges” are regularly typified as irresponsible, pathological and arbiters of social decay.

White privilege is when you can call yourself a “fuckin’ redneck,” like Bristol Palin’s boyfriend does, and talk about how if anyone messes with you, you’ll “kick their fuckin’ ass,” and talk about how you like to “shoot shit” for fun, and still be viewed as a responsible, all-American boy (and a great son-in-law to be) rather than a thug.

White privilege is being able to say that you support the words “under God” in the pledge of allegiance because “if it was good enough for the founding fathers, it’s good enough for me,” and not be immediately disqualified from holding office–since, after all, the pledge was written in the late 1800s and the “under God” part wasn’t added until the 1950s–while believing that reading accused criminals and terrorists their rights (because, ya know, the Constitution, which you used to teach at a prestigious law school requires it), is a dangerous and silly idea only supported by mushy liberals.

White privilege is being able to have a husband who was a member of an extremist political party that wants your state to secede from the Union, and whose motto was “Alaska first,” and no one questions your patriotism or that of your family, while if you’re black and your spouse merely fails to come to a 9/11 memorial so she can be home with her kids on the first day of school, people immediately think she’s being disrespectful.

White privilege is being able to fire people who didn’t support your political campaigns and not be accused of abusing your power or being a typical politician who engages in favoritism, while being black and merely knowing some folks from the old-line political machines in Chicago means you must be corrupt.

White privilege is being able to attend churches over the years whose pastors say that people who voted for John Kerry or merely criticize George W. Bush are going to hell, and that the U.S. is an explicitly Christian nation and the job of Christians is to bring Christian theological principles into government, and who bring in speakers who say the conflict in the Middle East is God’s punishment on Jews for rejecting Jesus, and everyone can still think you’re just a good church-going Christian, but if you’re black and friends with a black pastor who has noted (as have Colin Powell and the U.S. Department of Defense) that terrorist attacks are often the result of U.S. foreign policy and who talks about the history of racism and its effect on black people, you’re an extremist who probably hates America.

I’d add my own thoughts, but dude took the words right out of my mouth.

Jacknife On Election 2008

September 10, 2008 at 12:25 am (My muthafuckin self, My personal opinion, Politics) (, , , , , )

Well, it’s election time again, and both the DNC and the RNC have concluded. The democrats have their pick, and so do the republicans. A lot of noise is being made about McCain’s second in command, Sarah Palin, the governor of Alaska whose only experience includes being a mayor for a few years. It’s obvious that the only reason she was picked was that she was a woman, and McCain was trying to sway female voters who were angry that Obama didn’t pick Hillary as his running mate. Of course this would be assuming that female voters were so dense that the only reason they voted for Hillary is because she is a woman. If I were a female, I would actually find this an insult to my intelligence, especially since she is anti-choice, which is an issue many women care about. If Hillary was the Democratic nominee and didn’t pick Barack as her running mate, then McCain would have surely picked someone black as his running mate. If McCain wanted to pick a woman as his running mate, then there are a lot more candidates who are more suitable for the position, for instance, Condeleza Rice.

The Christian Taliban’s Anti-Gay Witch Hunt

August 21, 2008 at 11:00 pm (conservative bitchslapping, GLBT issues, My personal opinion, Politics, Republicans being stupid) (, , , , , , , , , )

While our troops are fighting in Iraq to [supposedly] protect our freedoms, gay high school students in Ponce De Leon, FL have to fight for their freedom to simply be who they are without having to deal with any negative backlash. Such is the case of a lesbian high school student in a bible-belt conservative community. After complaining to principal David Davis about students taunting her because of her being a lesbian, Davis respond appropriately, by suspending the student, outing her to her parents as a lesbian, and ordering her to stay away from children. Huh?

But wait, it gets even better. When her friends protested against the decision by wearing gay pride buttons and t-shirts, the principal responded by suspending the students, and interrogating people to find out if they are gay or not. One of those students, Heather Gilman (pictured here), told her mother Andrea, who then contacted the ACLU to file a lawsuit on her daughter’s behalf. Thankfully, the judge ruled that Davis did indeed violate the student’s civil rights, and ordered the school district to pay up. Davis wounded up demoted, and school employees have to go through sensitivity training.

“Davis embarked on what can only be characterized as a ‘witch hunt’ to identify students who were homosexual and their supporters, further adding fuel to the fire,” U.S. District Judge Richard Smoak recounted in his ruling. “He went so far as to lift the shirts of female students to insure the letters ‘GP’ or the words ‘Gay Pride’ were not written on their bodies.”

What’s most disturbing is the fact that so many of the county’s residents support Davis and his audacious behavior, simply because he acted in line with most of the community’s narrow minded beliefs. It’s one thing to believe homosexuality is wrong, but it’s another to punish, cast out, and vilify someone simply because their lifestyle does not coincide with what you believe in. What the principal did was nothing short of a witch hunt. What if some ignorant redneck S.O.B. decides to target one of the homosexuals you’re outing, and brings harm to them or their families? Would you be able to sleep having something like that over your head? Is it moral to public humiliate a child simply because you don’t like who they are? It’s even sadder when these type of people are allowed to teach children their bigoted ways, and then we have a new generation of people who have been raised to think that it’s ‘moral’ and ‘christian’ to ostracize people just because they are different from you. I think this quote from Andrea Gilman says it the best:

“What happens when these kids get out in the real world after they leave Ponce de Leon and they have a black, homosexual supervisor at their job?”

Cocksuckers on Patrol: Sean Bell’s Killers Found Not Guilty & Tarika Wilson

April 26, 2008 at 12:53 am (My personal opinion, Police Brutality, Politics, Racism) (, , , )

Sadly, and perhaps unsurprisingly, the three police officers who murdered Sean Bell were cleared of all charges today. For those who forgot, Sean Bell was the 23 year old would-be groom and father of 1 who was shot by officers Michael Oliver, Marc Cooper, and Gescard Isnora as he and his friends were leaving a strip club the night before his wedding. The three officers were wearing plain clothes, did not identify themselves, and had an unmarked car. The three victims were unarmed.

This is on the reels of the January shooting death of Tarika Wilson, a Lima Ohio woman who was shot by officers serving a warrant on her boyfriend. Her 14-month old child, whom she was holding at the time of her murder, was also wounded, losing a finger. Joseph Chavila, was indicted this past March on negligent homicide charges. The shooting happened during a fucking SWAT RAID in which the boyfriend in question was arrested for a suspicion of possession of crack cocaine charge.

Lord knows I said this countless times before, but I don’t know what’s more disgusting. The fact that this kind of thing happens as frequently as it does, or the fact that there are people, usually white, who will defend shit like this. Hopefully the Bell family will see some justice done during the civil suit, and Tarika’s killer will be convicted. Until then, we need to start standing up for ourselves. I don’t know how much more of this bullshit we have to endure. There are cops out there who are corrupt and/or incompetent, and as we have learned from Bell, Diallo, and countless others, there are judges who are more than willing to let them off the hook. I don’t want to advocate any criminal action, but we gotta defend ourselves. Bottom Line: if you’re armed, and someone runs up on you ready to shoot, and they DIDN’T say that they’re a cop, then BLOW HIS FUCKING HEAD OFF.

False Rape Accusations

April 6, 2008 at 7:30 pm (false rape, men's rights, My personal opinion, Politics, women)

Rape is a disgusting, horrible crime. However, making false accusations about it is even worse. Not only can they potentially ruin the life and reputation of an innocent man, but they make it harder for real rape cases to be prosecuted. Perhaps what’s even more disgusting than false rape accusations is how little of a punishment the accuser actually receives. For instance, a woman in the UK received no jail time after falsely accusing 8 different men of rape. A woman in Seattle was sentenced to 8 days and a $250 fine (with money and jail time suspended) after falsely accusing a professor of rape. What makes this case even worse is that the professor was suspended from his job and had to spend 9 days in jail before he was cleared. Radical feminists and overzealous prosecutors don’t believe that these things can happen, but unfortunately, it’s all too common. What makes things worse is our media and society. Sure we know that the accused is supposed to be innocent before proven guilty, and that there is a world of difference between being accused of something and actually having done it, but nowadays, especially when it comes to crimes against women, the mentality seems to be guilty period, regardless of weather there is a chance that the accused might not have done it. Look at the Kobe Bryant* and Duke lacrosse cases. The former, among other things has the alleged ‘victim’ having sex with two men several hours after the alleged rape. The latter was the result of a malicious prosecutor which tried to make a race issue where there was none. While both of these men have managed to rebound after the incident, there are several others who must bear the scarlet letter, and deal with having their lives disrupted and their reputations destroyed. One such person is Nathaniel Lewis, who had to spend 5 years in jail, costing him a potential football career and his college life before being cleared of raping a fellow University of Akron student. There are rape shield laws and victim’s anonymity laws to protect victims, while the accuser’s name and face are splashed all over the media. Things like this only showcase the flaws in our justice system. A more acceptable punishment for many of these women would be for them to serve the amount of time the accused would have been sent to, but in many cases, they barely get any jail time at all. Meanwhile, the accused has to bear the stigma of being a rapist, financial problems from attorney’s fees and court costs, and the time they lost. This is another example of how certain types of women claim to want to be equal to men, but still want special treatment for being women.

*I’m not letting Kobe off the hook. He has a loving wife, a basketball career and sponsorships bringing millions a year, and the admiration of millions of children, all of which he almost pissed away for some pussy. He bought this whole misfortune on himself. However, this does not mean that he deserves to go to jail or have his reputation slandered for something that he didn’t do.

Cocksuckers on Patrol: Valentines Day Edition

February 15, 2008 at 12:17 am (My personal opinion, Police Brutality, Politics)

I know it’s been a while since I last posted, but I’ve been busy. I’ve finally earned my degree, now I’m looking for some good IT work so I can finally move out of mom’s place. But enough of that, here are two recent cases of police brutality. Both of which involve white victims, so those of you who believe that police beatings are justified and only happen to trouble-making people of color may want to read this. I may seem a bit indignant, but it pisses me off when those with the power abuse it.

America Hating Anti-Gay Protestors Get Pwned, Big Time

November 3, 2007 at 4:16 pm (conservative bitchslapping, GLBT issues, My personal opinion, Politics, Republicans being stupid, Shits and giggles)

to the tune of $11 million in fact.

antigayprotestors.jpgIf you’ve been following politics, no doubt by now that you’ve heard about anti-gay Christian hero Fred Phelps (of godhatesfags.com fame), his Kansas-based Westboro Baptist Church, and their protests at the funerals of dead soldiers under the pretense that the Iraq war is punishment for America’s tolerance of homosexuality. Grieving father Albert Snyder, whose son Matthew was killed in Iraq sued the group for invasion of privacy, intent to inflict emotional distress, and unspecified damages. The judge ruled in his favor, and now the church has to pay nearly 11 million in damages, well over their worth. The group has vowed that this won’t be the end.

Now I’m all for protesting the war, but protesting at someone’s funeral is dead wrong. I despise censorship, but there are some things you just shouldn’t do, especially for the cause of spewing hatred. Hopefully ruling will be upheld, and since the reward is far greater than Phelp’s worth, then these bigots will be bled dry and be forced into bankruptcy, and we’ll never have to put up with their garbage anymore. Looking at this picture, it’s sad that there are parents who train their kids to think like this. People like this is why people turn away from Christianity. Listen up people, forget what Bill O’Riely tells you. There is no war on Christianity, just people like this. Unfortunately, Christians put themselves in the crossfire because they think that these people are spreading the lords word, when all it is is more hatred. Jesus would smack the piss out of Fred Phelps and his ilk.
